What is your daily morning routine?

My commute to the office is very short and framed by the beautiful streets of Paris. I consider myself very lucky as I can walk to work!

What is your Laurence Simons office like?

I work from some shared offices space Deskopolitan in the East of Paris. It is very nice and we even have a garden rooftop!

How did you come to work at Laurence Simons?

Prior to joining Laurence Simons, I worked in London as an Editor for the Legal 500. When I decided I was ready for a change, I thought recruitment would be a great option because of my depth of knowledge of the legal market and the incredible network of lawyers I had built during my career.

What does your role encompass?

I work with companies across France, Southern Europe and Africa to find senior-level lawyers (and compliance specialists) in private practice and in-house roles.

What projects are you currently working on?

There are always a few searches I’m leading. At the moment, I’m working with a number of Paris-based law firms to place several roles. Outside of France, I’m also conducting a search for a Partner for a Morroco-based firm and a Senior Legal Counsel in Senegal.

Who do you work most closely with?

I primarily work with our Geneva-based Executive Director, Angela Floydd and our Senior Director in Talent Acquisition and Delivery, Samantha Knowles. I’m also in constant contact with Raina Sengupta, who works within our Business Support team.

What do you enjoy about your work?

I really enjoy the variety of roles and markets for the searches I lead. It means that every day is different. The variety also makes finding the right candidate for the right role extremely rewarding.

How do you spend time out of work, and what are your main hobbies and passions?

I love to travel! It’s both a passion and a hobby of mine. I’m always thinking about and preparing for my next trip abroad.

What are you currently looking forward to?

Professionally, it would be the next exciting role for a new client. Personally, it would be my next trip, of course!

What are your favourite places in the city?

Paris is a beautiful city, and we welcome many visitors from around the globe. As a local, I tend to avoid the very busy, touristy places in favour of places that wouldn’t make the lists on Tripadvisor!

Do you have any recommendations?

I’d recommend that anyone who visits Paris deviates from the Eiffel Tower and Le Louvre; there’s so much beauty to take in, and you never know what gems you may come across by just walking around.
