I knew by the time I graduated that I didn’t want to be a lawyer but I wasn’t sure what to do with my career. I moved to Australia and fell into the world of legal recruitment, working on Associate level hires for law firms in the Perth/WA market. It was a baptism by fire, and I returned to the UK knowing I wanted to pursue a career in recruitment, specifically for a specialist legal recruitment business.

I ultimately chose to move to Laurence Simons because of their reputation in the market, the great team of people, and their vision for the future of the business. It was also hugely important to be provided with the green-field space to learn the world of search and to progress at the right pace – a pace that is defined by both my own ambitions and the input of an open management structure.

I am ambitious both in my professional and personal life, and achieving a balance between the two is critical. I feel that this is very much supported at LS.

What Our People Say - April

I joined Laurence Simons in April 2021 as an Associate in Business Support. After working in recruitment for several years and then having a brief period working in another sector, I knew I wanted to return. After the interview process with LS, I knew this was the company for me! Joining remotely because of the pandemic, I had apprehensions about my transition back into recruitment and how well I would pick up the role / get to know my colleagues in a virtual setting.

My fears were set aside when Clare our CEO came to my door on the morning of my first day to hand-deliver a cake and card (it was my birthday) and a welcome bag full of LS goodies. I can genuinely say from that moment on, I felt part of the company as if I had been here for a lifetime.

After 10 months with LS, I received a promotion to become a Senior Associate within Business Support and Operations. There are great opportunities available at LS!
